My name is Mark O'Kane and I'm a married father of 2 kids (don't tell them I said that... they're both 20+ years old). I live in Ireland along with my 3 dogs, and a cat who thinks it's a dog. I also part-time mind my daughters pet lizards and rat.... yes I like pets. I've many years of experience in various roles with the vast majority of my career being in the Telecommunications domain until I made the decision to move to Cloud a few years ago. At various stages of my career I've had the good fortune to have worked in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle from defining a product, developing it, testing it and so on right up to selling it. I've gained valuable insights into how each team works not to mention enjoyed myself doing it. My current incarnation as an IBM Cloud Adviser/Architect has been one of the more enjoyable ones as it brings together my technical and commercial experience along with dealing with clients. It is because of this I decided to start this blog to share my knowledge and views on the joys of cloud. I love scuba diving but living in Ireland, you can imagine it's dry suit diving only.
